Convoy Operation

For testing convoy operation, communication between vehicle, control room, and stator-current control devices is indispensable. On the basis of commercially available radio links a connection to the digital real-time information processing was established.

The converters along the track are linked via a CAN-bus system and in part connected directly to dSPACE- and Rabbit systems (RtM); this enables maximum flexibility in controlling the track. Necessary emergency systems were put into operation; these are on the one hand the fail-safe emergency-brake devices and the securing of continuous radio contact between vehicles and control room on the other hand.
