Automatic Operation

Operation Control

The autonomously operating RailCabs are coordinated from a central control room while their motions are controlled on board. The data necessary for controlling the stator current are transmitted wirelessly to the information processing on the track.
Vehicles operating in a convoy communicate with one another to exchange information for convoy control.

Safe Operation

Automatic guidance of vehicles in convoys makes high demands on the operation control of the overall system. To meet them a control system was built up that scans and evaluates the actual situation on different levels. The basis for fail-safe, autonomous convoy control is communication of relevant data, such as position, speed, and system state within a convoy. For a maximum possible operating safety the information processing on the track evaluates data gathered from the vehicles. What is more, the vehicles are also equipped with sensors that scan the environment in order to be able to detect other vehicles and obstacles on the track.
